The RNC Chairman’s Preamble:
The 2016 Republican Platform is a statement of who we are, what we believe as a Party and our vision for a stronger and FREER America.
The pursuit of opportunity has defined America from our very beginning.
This is THE land of opportunity.
The American Dream is a dream of equal opportunity for all. And, the Republican Party is the party of opportunity.
The Republican Party was founded in 1854 as an abolitionist movement with one simple creed:
Slavery is a violation of the rights of man.
The 1st Republican president was Abraham Lincoln, the author of The Emancipation Proclamation.
Republicans in Congress authored the 13th, 14th & 15th amendments giving former slaves:
Citizenship, Voting Rights, and Due Process of Law. Democrats defended the rights of slave owners.
Republican President Dwight Eisenhower championed The Civil Rights Act of 1957.
Democrats filibustered the bill and those that followed.
Republicans are aligned with Religious Ideology and Conservatism.
We believe in The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
We are NOT aligning ourselves with Atheism, Socialism or Communism.
Ask yourself: "What do we really believe?
Is there no Supreme Creator? Is it truly possible to remove Religion and retain Morals?
Are we not responsible for our individual actions? Is it government's responsibility to take care of us?
Should all people "have the same and be treated the same" regardless of their contributions to society?
Is it OK for the government to take from YOU or others (by force) and then give it to me?
Is Marriage and the Family not the basis on which all civilizations have been built?
The Republican Party is about People, about The Family, about Morals, about Individual Responsibility.
